Writers Guild Awards Provides Intrigue
Voting began this week for the Writers Guild Awards, and our Jeremy Martin has cast his ballot. Should “Avatar” really win? What about “(500) Days of Summer” or “Brothers Bloom”? Martin discusses the nominees, examines the Oscar race, and shares his vote as well.
The much anticipated “Where the Wild Things Are” won’t be up for too many Oscars, with the possibly exception of Best Original Score, writes Christa Youngpeter. But the film adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s children’s book is mostly entertaining, and it works for both kids and adults.
